The HSC machining centres of the SIRIUS series (UM/UL+/UX) have been Hwacheon’s most successful machines for tool, die, and mould making for nearly 20 years.

As a domestic market leader in this segment, the name Hwacheon stands for the highest precision, reliability, and efficiency.

For us, as one of the oldest South Korean machine tool manufacturers with over 60 years of experience and forward-looking expertise, there is only one standard of quality: It must always be the best. High machine availability and peak productivity are the results of our decades of experience in development, design, and production. This is why we rely on in-house spindle manufacturing, our own foundry, and bed machining—because every detail matters. Only in this way can our machine tools consistently meet the highest demands over the long term.

The three-axis machining centre with a portal design and reinforced rear wall ensures high precision and excellent surface finishes—even with difficult-to-machine materials. Designed for HSC and HPC applications, these machining centres meet the strictest requirements for accuracy and tight tolerances.

With a maximum table load of 800 kg, the SIRIUS-UM accommodates workpieces measuring 850 x 500 mm. Thanks to powerful feed drives and high-quality linear guideways on all axes, it achieves rapid traverse speeds of 24 m/min. The fast tool changer with 24 stations (optionally 30) enhances cost-effective production. Weighing 8 tonnes, the SIRIUS-UM offers the stability and smooth operation typical of Hwacheon machines. The Meehanite cast bed, produced in our own foundry, has been optimized for thermal stability and rigidity using FEM simulations.

For every application, we offer a choice of three temperature-monitored, oil-cooled built-in spindles manufactured in-house:

  • Standard: 20,000 rpm with a drive power of 18.5/11 kW and 60/17.5 Nm (10 min/const.)
  • Optionally: 20,000 rpm with a drive power of 22/18.5 kW and 118/80 Nm (15 min/const.)
  • Optionally: 32,000 rpm with a drive power of 18.5/13 kW and 4.1/5.9 Nm (1 min/const.)
