Outstanding stability

The VT-950+ boasts exceptional stability thanks to its heavy, monolithic Meehanite cast bed. Built on this robust foundation, it features high-performance main and feed drives, wide ball screws, a two-speed spindle gearbox, and a sturdy travelling column. Together with the larger VT-1150+, it ranks among the most stable and powerful machines in its category.

The heavy Meehanite cast bed and wide bearing surfaces of the box guideways effectively channel cutting-induced vibrations into the damping bed, where they are absorbed. This is why the machine bed and travelling column are designed to be exceptionally massive, weighing 15 tonnes for the VT-950+ and 25 tonnes for the VT-1150+, making them the heavyweights among vertical lathes.

A wide range of gearbox options allows you to tailor the machine to your specific application. For heavy-duty cutting tasks and tough, hard materials, our high-torque spindles enable efficient machining.

Tool magazine with Capto interface

To reduce frequent setups or accommodate workpieces requiring numerous tools, an optional tool magazine can be added, allowing automatic exchange of stationary and very long tools.

High dynamism with air-floating technology

Despite their substantial mass, the VT-950+ and VT-1150+ achieve dynamic machining with minimal non-productive time, thanks to a rapid traverse speed of 24 m/min. This is made possible by Hwacheon’s perfected air-floating technology, which pressurizes the box guideways with compressed air, significantly reducing stick-slip effects and break-loose torque during startup.

Both machines are available with Fanuc or Siemens controls.
