The Hi-TECH 850 is a horizontal lathe with box guideways for Ø800 mm chucks, perfect for large, tough workpieces. Featuring a 45° slanted bed, stable turret, and four-speed gearbox, it delivers precision and torque. It boasts the largest turning diameter in its class (Ø825/3500 mm) and offers optional Y-axis and steady rests. Its ergonomic design and Hwacheon oil cooling system ensure efficiency and accuracy in heavy-duty cutting.

Horizontal turning centre ideally suited for large and hard workpieces

The Hi-TECH 850 masters demanding machining tasks requiring milling and turning operations. Its large, stable tool turret and monolithic machine bed with box guideways are designed specifically for machining large workpieces.

Large-scale high-performance turning centre

The 45° slanted machine bed ensures optimal chip removal and reduced heat input. All linear axes are equipped with box guideways for maximum stability and precision. The main spindle’s automatic gearbox provides very high torque at low speeds, while high-power machining is also possible at higher speeds. An optional Y-axis enables the machining of particularly complex workpiece geometries.

Largest turning diameter and length in its class (Ø825 / 3500 mm)

Optionally, the Hi-TECH 850 can be fitted with a steady rest for optimal machining of very long and heavy workpieces.

Spindle with upstream gearbox

The four-speed main spindle gearbox delivers exceptional torque, especially at lower speeds. Lubrication and cooling of the bearings are managed by Hwacheon’s unique oil cooling system. The gearbox temperature is continuously regulated to minimize thermal expansion, enhancing precision during prolonged operation and heavy-duty cutting.

Ergonomic design and extensive optional features

The user-friendly design of the Hi-TECH 850 ensures comfortable operation, allowing you to focus on producing high-quality products efficiently and safely, without cumbersome handling. A wide range of optional features enables customization to your specific performance and precision requirements.

Wide turret (optional)

An optional wider version of the Hi-TECH 850 turret is available, featuring 12 stations, each with two consecutive tool holders. This design accommodates long tools securely, enhancing stability and rigidity during the cutting process.
