The HSC machining centres in the SIRIUS series (UM/UL+/UX) have been Hwacheon’s most successful tool, die and mould-making machines for almost 20 years. As a home-grown market leader in this segment, the name Hwacheon is a byword for the highest precision, reliability and efficiency.

For us, as one of the oldest South Korean machine tool manufacturers, with more than 60 years of experience and future-orientated know-how, there is only one standard of quality: It must always be the best. High machine availability and the highest levels of productivity are the result of our decades of experience in development, construction and production. This is why, for example, we rely on our own spindle construction, foundry and bed machining, because every detail has to be right. This is the only way that our machine tools can fulfil the highest requirements over the long term.

The three-axle machining centre with a portal-based design and a reinforced rear wall ensures high precision and surface finishes - even with materials which are difficult to cut. Set up for HSC and HPC applications, these machining centres fulfil the highest precision and tolerance requirements.

The SIRIUS-UX, with a maximum table load of 2,500 kg can be used for workpieces of up to 1,650 x 750 mm. The SIRIUS-UX achieves its high rapid traverse speed of 20 m/min thanks to its high-power feed drives and high quality linear guideways on all axes. The rapid tool changer, with 40 stations (optionally 60) also supports efficient production. The weight of the 15-tonne machine gives the SIRIUS-UX the stability and smooth running which are typical of Hwacheon machines. The cast Meehanite bed comes from our own foundry and has been optimised with respect to thermal growth and rigidity by means of FEM simulation.
For every area of application, we manufacture the appropriate three temperature-monitored and oil chilled built-in spindles:

  • Standard: 12,000 rpm with a drive power of 30/25 kW and 350/239 Nm (10 min / const.)

Optionally: 15,000 rpm with a drive power of 30/25 kW und 263/191 Nm (10 min / const.)
